2nd 1.007 Patch Tournament!

Tournament Information

- Single-elimination (knockout), best of 3 games per round.

- You must name your side (Allies or Soviets) for the tournament and you can't change once the tournament has begun.

- You may not choose a country (e.g. Iraq) more than once per round, you have to use different countries in subsequent games. This is to make people try all the countries.

- Maps for your round will be chosen at random from the map list.

- Uses the 1.007 patch. You should download the RA2 Launcher, which lets you switch between 1.006 and 1.007 and back again quickly and easily (your RA2 is not permanently altered).

- Your play a round every one or two weeks (roughly) and it's up to players to arrange games and agree on times. I'm hoping for 16 entrants, meaning they'll be 4 rounds (meaning the tournament will take about 5 or 6 weeks to complete).

- Your games must be observed by me.

Map List

Remember to check the map changes page.

Country Swing
Depth Charge
Dry Heat
Heartland
Heck No Lames
Lake Blitzen
Little Big Lake

Is there a way to come to an agreement between the two players?

Yes, so I can do battle reports, plus I need to see how the patch works out (that's partially the point of the tourney - to test it).

Is there a way to come to an agreement between the two players?

Agreement about what?

"Maps for your round will be chosen at random from the map list."

I'll pick them at random, players don't get any input.

In the first patch tournament I relaxed this rule in the first round only and picked again if both players didn't like the map (this was mainly because in the first round a few people hadn't practiced Valley of Gems), but I probably won't do that this time.

Dry Heat is the only YR map there. As always you can ask for FFGs if you want practice on it (or the patch in general).
