in big groups dolphins destroy subs... and dolphins own navals... so there will always be more dolphins

You guys and your own imaginary scenarios. If I used your guys' logic, I would say that Deso > 1000 Dolphins.

15 subs vs 15 dolphins is like saying 2-1 sub count. subs are 2x the cost and thus build 2x slower. 30 dolphins vs 15 subs = dolphins destroy all soviet navals, then the allied grossly outnumbers and owns the sea.

How can Dolphins cost only 500?? Too unfair!
The Dolphine-OP-for-only-500 problem, is worst than the Deso-OP-for-only-600 problem.

That's why I said mass subs. If you have 8 naval yards and lots of money, soviet navy wins. Any challengers?

 

Also, the fact that you don't need a radar and a battle lab for subs is a huge advantage. I don't think the $500 price per dolphin is too low since a sub can kill two dolphins on its own. Not to mention that a soviet player can defend his naval yard with a couple of desolators making the poor dolphins die in seconds.

 

ON TOPIC: I haven't played Yuri's Revenge too much but I think each faction's anti air has clear advantages and disadvantages. Flack is better against rocketeers, aircraft carriers, dread knots and V3s while patriot missiles are a lot better against planes (in low numbers) and kirovs. Killing a kirov with flacks is a pain. Aegis cruisers are the best anti air for sure especially since they automatically shoot while moving. :p

Have u ever been in this situation? Allies always win. That being said, i accept ur challenge! Water fort oil 1v1. (ill do no rockies, planes, or legions--navy only) bet i win 10-0.

My thoughts exactly.

In open water the allied fleet is stronger they can use air support aswell which is rather useful however in situations where the water is close to land sovs can utilize desos, yuri's, psy beacons and flak which considerably weakens the allied fleet's ability.

Open Water. Allied > Sov
Near land. Sov > allied

if you can actually get a kirov above dolphins and it drops a bomb it insta-kills like 9 dolphins lol, very quick promo aswell :D

Allied navy is really good, you just have to be able to control dolphins correctly. By firing in the back of groups @ the correct distance + harassing navals constantly.... dolphins are super good... And in a map that isn't infinite money (not wfo) destroyers are super good as well... They have the ability to attack land units, are pretty good vs. infantry/buildings, get a sub to just a sliver of health left in 1 hit, can attack scorpions/dreadnaughts... They are very versatile.

 

Of course a lot of "what is better" has to deal with the player controlling the units.

i've played that map numerous times and subs are so inferior that choosing a soviet side is considered suicide
