..COULD I HAVE DONE THIS LEGALLY IN TOURNEY (qm) PLAY?
as it turned out, it was a long game and I became short on cash....and ended up surrendering. Cloning Tanya I would easily have won at the point it occurred.
What is the XWIS policy on cloning?

No. Example: http://xwis.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=96422
I read thru this thread. If I am reading it correctly... isn't "t00much4u" (the admin chief) saying that it is OK to sell units in the cloning vat? He also said it is in the Yuri MANUAL AND ALSO THIS IS NOT A bug. Having this money making ability is the consequence of getting both the sov and allied MCV.
BUT still, Would someone at XWIS admin go out on a limb and make a policy "declaration" statement about it? I am getting a mixed message on this matter.

Because it's basically a 'free money' generator.its not a bug....its part of the game the game was made to do this....why would it be a bug if it allows you to send them back in...are you dumb?

i won't argue with you olaf, seeing how you run the server and makes the rules, i just don't find it to be a bug because
1.) it's never used because you need soviets and allieds to do it, and who get both MCV in a qm
2.) Westwood wouldn't have let you put units in vat....even though it wasn't meant for tanya's and for the units yuri takes over.
but like i said your word stands.

Does that settle "it " then??
Olaf's statement leads one to believe that...........
THOU SHALT NOT CLONE FOR MONEY IN RA2 TOURNAMENT PLAY

Clonning sucks, but it's like alting you're not gonna get prosecuted for it
zzattack you are just a "nobody" member/player like me.
Methinks, however, I will listen to what 'Olaf van der Spek' has to say when it comes to the XWIS rules and policy regarding ra2.

ST does not consider it a cheat. That statement means that you can do it.

I really like your stance on this issue. To me, it requires some 'doing' to capture an opponents MCV in 'qm play'. And then, develope all the alernate structures/units to compliment your own units. (To include being able to clone generate Tanya/Spys for cash).
I really think it enhances the game . And, it is not an easy feat during most games so it is a rarity. But if your opponent affords you the opportunity by making a dash for an ore field with an MCV (as was my case) then you should be allowed to exploit to the fullest your opponents efforts. Afterall he's trying to shut you out of an ore field!!

It just seems to me that Olaf might have a different take on the matter. But if you say it's OK to clone/sell Tanyas for cash I'm OK with that..
