You run the risk of scaring players away, because the tools used to attract players represent the people behind XCL. Everyone I know on YR shudders at the mere mention of the word "bot". So what is the average joe player going to think we he sees XCL bots. Most likely the same thing he thinks when he sees any other bot. Thatís because bots have been around for a long time and a lot of people donít even read their messages anymore. They've done too much damage in the past to be used as a legitimate tool now.

But the main point is that these things are damn annoying and there are too many of them as it is. A bot advertising XCL with good intentions is just as bad as bot advertising from gamesxsposed in my opinion. As of this writing I've seen an XCL message in QM and I think thatís a far better idea than unleashing one more annoying bot on the community.

come on guys its actually not that annoying!!!

Err, rrriiiiggghhhtttt.

Its very annoying having to remake your games over and over after a bot pops in and screws something up. And have you ever tried to have a conversation inside a game lobby while a bot spams the room every 2 seconds. :cursing: How about having to open observer spots so the bot will alow the last player to enter your room. That **** gets old pretty quick.

Please, for the love of all humanity.... No Bots!

The Bots are very annoying. So annoying, in fact, that any site I see advertising via Bots, I make a point not to visit.

I play several ffg and/or clan games a day on YR and I know all too well the evils of Bots. They crash games, they refuse player entry, and they generally **** everyone off. Not the best way to advertise.

The only bot thatís never made me want to impale myself with a rusty pipe is the one from rts The thing just sits in the lobbies for hours at a time minding its own business and not bothering a soul. That, I think, is the best you can do while the chats turned off.

XCL doesnít want the image generally associated with game entering bots: That of a shady hacker community with aspirations of WOL anarchy and chaos. Keep the trivia rooms up and put a bot in the lobbies and give it some time. Just my 2 cents.
