Download ra2/Play on a Mac?

16 November 2018 - 07:48 AM

Hey guys! Long time ra2 player here looking to come back after 4 year break. Looking forward to seeing any veteran players and rejoin the fun and have some ggs.

Acouple things.

First off, my computer has no disc insert drive, so I was wondering if there is a place to download red alert 2? There used to be a link to download it and now I've noticed it no longer works. Are there any others elsewhere you guys are aware of?

And right now I unfortunately only have a Mac, I heard of different ideas of running ra2 on a Mac, like bootcamp, crossover, wine, etc, but none of those have worked for me. Have any of you successful been able to download and play ra2 online on a Mac? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

I used to play as Onion97.

RIP to ZigZag, was sad to hear the news.

Anyways please let me know guys, thanks.

I want to start playing red alert 2 again

Wats up everybody. After taking 4 years away from the game I want to come back! So I’m excited to get some great ggs going with all the veteran players

However installing the game was always a hassle and this time it will likely be even more difficult and I was hoping people could offer some advice on how to get around these challenges

1. I now only have Mac computers, I no longer have windows so I was wondering if anyone else plays ra2 on a Mac and how do they do that?

2. With macs there’s no disc insert, so I was hoping to download it like I did last time but I can’t find the old free download link that was around before.

3. How do I play on other servers without a disc? Is it possible? I see xwis isn’t that active but apparently cnc.net is

Thanks in advance

Btw I played under the nick onion97
Rip ZigZag really sorry to hear the news

Red Alert 2 slow as hell on a Mac

05 February 2016 - 10:24 AM

I installed Red Alert 2 on my Mac using Wine Bottler Software (anybody ever hear of it or use it?)

The game works and I was able to log on online!!!! However the game was ridiculously slow and unplayable.

Is there any way around this? Am I going to have to wait til I get a Dell?...

Also Im worried this download could adversely affect my Mac...if anyone has anything positive to say about Mac's antivirus software or anything like that, that'd be great to hear too

or if they used software like WineBottler or bootcamp and their Mac remained 100% fully healthy
