Do you know how to use Hyper Terminal?

If not than I can't really explain it that much since I never touched that router, but I do know that Cisco routers have a nice blue cable named "Cisco Cable" that is to connect to the router admin using an ethernet port...

anyway if u do know the user&password to all cisco routers and switches is u: admin p: cisco

Id you don't know than guess your fathers password, I don't think that router has a max amount of times to enter passwords in the Internet Explorer Page...

Btw, try looking inside the reset hole, you might have moved the small button to the side, if you can see it with a flash light try to click on it gently and if you think you know what you are doing you can just open the router with a screw driver and than hit the reset button, just remember that you need to know your ISP connection settings such as ISP network tag, ISP username and ISP password

also if it's adsl for example u'd need the PPP1 and default gateway and such (I don't know if it goes like that in USA but I belive it should).

Hope atlist the reset button helped you... but if I were you i'd just find out where my father wrote the password or try to guess it...

I want you to try this:

open your Internet explorer browser and type 192.168.1.240 (default ip of expander), a window will pop up. leave the user name blank and put admin as a password (this is default password).

Funny guy...
The question is not what computer you have, but what router you have...

Give me that information and i'll tell you what's your password supposed to be.

Seems to be fine for me...
If you can save it and upload to show me what you get I would see what the error is from data I insert to the image.
