Why do you play RA2?

I play Red Alert 2 for a bit of fun. Some seem to take it very seriously. I lose lots and win occasionally. I enjoy a longer game as you are getting more into a clever battle with the enemy(Plus I am slow with hotkeys and assigning teams). Picking each other off bit by bit. I find it tricky against someone who's good and its usually over after 3 minutes. What I don't understand then is the 'gg' bit. How was it a good game? A decent game goes on for a little longer surely. A good player vs a good player I 'm sure goes on a bit longer but can you agree this please. There are lots of new people like me who are learning as we go. I started off playing as UK then switched to Iraq now I am back to UK. I have noticed better Sov players always rush. Allies seems a more tactical game but maybe I'm mistaken. I feel guilty when I play someone who is worse than me and I do try and offer some help whilst playing. Simple things like advising where derricks are etc. There appears to be lots of ignorant players too but thats life I suppose.
Any comments welcome.

But I play to learn what to do in every single imaginable circumstance the enemy can thrown at me. Like what if he begins to basewalk. Or how's the best way to steal a derrick, or if it's better just to destroy your enemy's derrick. Or how you can better defend an engi rush next time, or how you beat a Yuri. There's so many questions to learn in this game. Sure rushing always works, and I can be beaten by a rusher, but in the long run, I think its the players that try to learn everything that eventually win in the end. Knowing the details of every situation is what seperates the stagnant every time rusher/ engi rusher/ cannon walker from the better players. To learn everything is why I play this game. It's complex... when your opponent is complex as well. That's why I play the game.
And that's why I get mad at rushers. Same thing every time.

You shouldn't think that rushers only rush and that's it. Decent to good players can very quickly estimate the quality of their opponents. If they build slow, have strange build order, why waste time on them when you can finish them in 3 minutes?
It's part of the game to build fast, be strong fast. But it's when 2 top players meet the real 'good games' start. That's when both players cannot rush eachother, and other aspects of the games start to appear. With these aspects I mean just about everything u named x 1000

as a skilled ra2 player i rarly find some one who matches up to my standerds so its normaly an easy victory im not just boasting or big headed but its true if u want a good game with a skilleed player who never rushes or base walks find me sometime
Skilled players don't waste their time on mod maps you only play, please try to learn at least 1 official map, and skilled players do rush often ...if you cannot defend yourself against rush, you SUCK
Like whole top 500 in quick match prolly owns your **** on any official map
