Game closes when try to log in online

See if the game also crashes when trying to play an ordinary skirmish, offline match. If it does, then something's wrong with your installation.
If the crash happens when logging in, you credentials or the game's memory of them might be faulty. Or your game is being blocked by your firewall/anti-virus.

You will need to say when exactly it crashed/froze so we can help.
It makes a difference if you were playing single-player skirmish when the game froze/crashed or single-player campaign, tho in the case it happens in both the issue(s) are the exact same.

Good idea, but a better idea would be to get a DDraw DLL that doesn't make the game murder itself when you accidentally hit the Lose key.
I hear fixing that problem also solves Alt+Tab problems too.

Sorry I can't help much there; the DLL you need differs from setup to setup, last I heard.
I'm not sure if there are more, but one thing you could do is install CnCNet somewhere; its installation comes with a bunch of DLLs hidden in a folder and you just need to rename to ddraw.dll or dxwnd.dll. I'm not sure when to use which, but who knows, maybe your explosive cocktail of ddraw and dxwnd, whose names should've been swapped, works and doesn't nuke your Lose10.

Your solutions are good enough whatever the source, you helped me and many others around here.
These days everyone use the internet to troubleshoot.
And you do it very well. Active & to the point. Even in these days in what Xwis isn't very active.
So... the thanks are all to you
