Having problems just downloaded the game ra2 from the support drop down menu and then the patch went to run it, and the screen goes black my resolution goes to the lowest possible and the screen stays black. I can cntrl alt delete and end the game but it never works. I am going to try and re install the game but does anyone have any advice?

Thanks.

The first time you launch the game you have to wait a little longer for the patch to update. The black screen should go away after a minute.

Use it without a disc. Runs smoother for 1, doesn't need a disc for 2.

Also, if you run it it compatability mode for windows 95, this usually stopped any black screens for me before.

The patch is already in the MP download.
And support for XP (by MS) ends in April.

Did you try to run as administrator? I remember having the same issue when I reinstalled ra2, same as txt_preparecom_whatever error.

OT, should I warn you? ;)
It's not, 1.4.31-4+deb7u2 is the most up-to-date version for Debian stable.

Most of the time you're administrator already on XP.
