YR Quick Match - Messed Up?

Best Answer FReQuEnZy, 16 August 2013 - 01:55 PM

It seems that most cases of the error are caused by the mph.exe or mphmd.exe which is the game's internal connection router.

The except.txt file is the error report, so deleting it should have no consequences as to what zigzag said.

Known troubleshooting and fixes are :

1. Check that mph or mphmd executables are not blocked by any firewalls.

2. Check that the game's installation folder has both of the executables, if you play ra2/yr both.

3. Install / copy a new mph or mphmd executable file to your game directory.

Red Alert 2's MPH.exe : http://www.filedropper.com/mph

Yuri's Revenge MPHMD.exe : http://www.filedropper.com/mphmd

Download and unzip the contents of the zip archive to your game folder to install, overwrite when needed.

Hello,

what is the problem with YR's quick match at the moment? Whenever I get matched to another player, games wouldn't start in 95% of all cases. When I get into a game, it freezes showing 143 cash, then going straight to D/C screen.

On the ladder it appears as a Reconnection Error. Are there any known issues on the server or have you heard of other cases??

Thanks for your support.

The firewall works fine, no difference when I switch it of for a try.

I saw several other members here asking for solution with the same issue. Seems like nobody knows what's going wrong here, right?

Occasionally this happens to me, when it happens it creates a text file in your ra2/yr folder called except.txt once i delete this file and restart yr however it normally works fine. Try that.

Deleting the except.txt doesn't help.

Re-Installing the game doesn't help.

I'm not sure if my firewall is blocking one of the .exe files, how do I find out about that?

This bug is becoming more and more frequent on both games... Is mphmd.exe in your exceptions list?

No, there's no such file in the RA2/YR folder.

MPH.exe is on the list, I don't have the second file. I will try to overwrite them with the downloaded files. Did you mean the game executables for YR/RA2 or the mph.exe / mphmd.exe ones to be in the folder?

The mph files need to be in the game folder. They are essential to a complete functioning game installation.

I replaced them with your files. The missing file maybe caused the issues. I'll test it in some quick matches at the weekend. Thanks, Martin!

It seems that adding the missing mphmd.exe file fixed the problems I had connecting to other players.

~ resolved ~
