i dont know any way to make ra2 artificially slower but to use a laggers computer ™.

so u can say me how?

low rate of fire=faster rate of fire.

So 60 is better then 65, just wanted to point that out. Also you should post the armor of the tanks, projectile aswell. Since I do think grizz and rhinos have different armors.


No grizzly and rhino have Heavy armor both. The projectile is the same.

nah, of course not

rhino shot do a lil more damage than grizzly shot do duhhh... but grizzly shoot faster etc. etc. its alot cheaper

its still balanced

There is a difference between weapon and projectile, think of the projectile as the visual graphics (the cannon ball) and the weapon as the warhead. (this holds parameters such as damage and explosive radius etc....)

Guys ive modded the game thousands of times and worked for a few mods doing voxels. I tell you, the projectile for Rhino and Grizzly is the same. Its called "Cannon" and the warhead is called "AP".

I know what im talking about, dont contradict me on this when I have all the data...

Y dont u guys jst cut n paste the rhino and grizzly portion of 'rules.ini' to settle this? I'd do it if i wasnt at work.

done. usiris is right, the projectile is the same, its called >>cannon<< think of it (as drasten correctly said) as a section describing how the cannon ball that they shoot should appear (it appears same for rhino and grizzly). but the projectile has nothing to do with the mechanics, as in how many damage the cannon ball does so i dunno why was posted here in the first place. :p

the tanks also have the same type of armor >>heavy<< except that rhino has more hitpoints.

so heres some interesting facts:

rhino:
Primary=120mm
Strength=400
Armor=heavy
Speed=6
Cost=900

grizzly:
Primary=105mm
Strength=300
Armor=heavy
Speed=7
Cost=700

120mm (rhino gun):
Damage=90
ROF=65
Range=5.75
Projectile=Cannon
Speed=40

105mm (grizzly gun):
Damage=65
ROF=60
Range=5
Projectile=Cannon
Speed=40

cannon type:
Image=120MM
Arcing=true
SubjectToCliffs=yes
SubjectToElevation=yes
SubjectToWalls=yes

im too noob to mod ra2 :p

What is very interesting to note about is that the Lasher Tank's projectile, the same in every respect to the Grizzly, travels faster. That means the Lashers destroy enemies more quickly than the Grizzly does. Im sure this is excellent for hit and run on the back of an artillery platoon.

Try being allied and going up against 7 warfacs on Country swing from a top yuri player...
not a pretty sight :(

Allieds still have Battlefortress though.

7 warfacs = lasher spam+ mags...
trust me, it's not pretty at all... i've seen alot of top allied players get beat by this :(

people go 7 warfactories on red alert 2,
money is not an issue in 1v1

no one goes 7 wf on ra2 unless they have entire mid on hfo

I can understand 7 WF's on CS on YR, but no one EVER goes 7 wf on CS on ra2, the most you would ever see is 6 with an MCV sell closely followed

well the most i've seen was 7.. it was pretty big in 07 or 08 maybe. people like... LiBBeY, Latof, and random good players did it.
you need to go 3 miners tho. and yes MCv is sold after the 7th ;)

and i have an 8 Warfac BO ( for yr) on TR heck without mid! (thanks to eziz ;) ) if need be..so probably 6 on ra2 maybe or 7 ( includes selling MCV ofc)

Building orders like this don't need to be used these days tho! which is why i enjoy playing so much :p


Edit: i've had games where i've gone 6 warfactories in a 2v2 on CS.. lol (ra2) if you go 5 you have money for fodder! =D

there is really no point in getting more than 5 wf's on ra2 unless your eco is 10k+

7 warfacs beat any tech SvS =\ which is why i hated doing same bo on maps like that everygame.
i Value your opinion. but people used to do it, and used to win ALOT of games while doing it..
once your ore runs out bring ur miners and go! lmao.
i remember running over most players going a quick 4 facs on TR heck lol. it's either that, or tech kinda quick in a TvT.
TL always gets to middle first =[ but yeah, just letting you know it's been done before!

Yeah i feel you on that, but im telling you 7 warfacs is just overhaul, and you would make drones for Desolators!
constant pressure.. and you keep racking up the warfactories.... only way to win is to keep up in tank production really.
