How To Enter
Want to enter the 4th 1.007 Tournament? Follow the simple instructions below to enter!
2) Leave your sign-up details!
I need the following:
E-mail/MSN address: Not just for my benefit, your opponent(s) need it too.
Your side (Allies or Soviets).
What timezone you're in (if you don't know, say which country you're in).
3) Download 1.007!
The patch comes with a launcher: it won't permanently modify your RA2 and can be easily turned on and off. Link here.
Tournament FAQ
- When will the tournament happen?
The tournament will take place next weekend 7th-9th July, so make sure you'll be free then. Games not completed then will be finished the following weekend. Exact times to be decided later.
- How will the tournament be played?
The tournament will be standard single-elimination ("knockout"). Each round will be best 2 of 3 games.
- What sides and countries can I use?
You can use Allies or Soviets. You choose your race at the start of the tournament and stick with it throughout. You can use any country, but you can't use a country more than once per round.
- Observing and recording games.
All games will be observed by me. This is so I can record the games and make battle reports, and observe bugs and imbalances first hand (if they exist).
- What maps will be played?
Maps are chosen at random from this map list:
Cold War
Country Swing
Depth Charge
Dry Heat
Golden State Freeway
Heartland
Little Big Lake
May Day
Montana DMZ
Official Tournament Map B
Paris Revisited
Pinch Point
Snow Valley
South Pacific
Stormy Weather
Valley of Gems
Some maps have been altered. Check the Map Changes list. New maps are automatically added when you download 1.007.
1.007 Info
- What is 1.007?
1.007 is a balance patch created to improve balance in the game, but it also fixes bugs and adds new maps to the game. More information at the 1.007 site. Using 1.007 does not permanently alter your RA2.
- How do I play 1.007?
1.007 needs to be played differently from 1.006; the same tactics might not work in the same way. The best way to catch up is to read the Player's Guide.
- What do I need to participate in the tournament?
Make sure you download 1.007. Use the update button to get updates when they're available. Practice in skirmish or, better yet, online (remember you can only play against other 1.007 users).
- Watch 1.007 videos.
A good way to see how 1.007 is played is to watch videos from the past tournaments. These can be found in the 1.007 Videos topic. These are full videos of tournament games taken from an observer's perspective. All videos rated 4 and 5 stars are worth downloading.

Substitutes
Substitues will get to play if any of the first 16 pull out. Fill-in positions are normally first come, first serve. A few people always cancel so those high up on the subs list probably will get to play.
