Hi Everyone

Before launching a new qm map patch, we have decided it best to take stock of the community's input.
To that end, we have made available a list of 15 maps, 5-10 of which will make the final cut. We need your help in choosing these maps!

Please review the map images and play a few games We would very much appreciate if you could reply to this topic with only a map name, and a vote of either in favor or against. At the end of the month we will tally all responses and the most popular maps will be those which are included.

We will be monitoring this topic closely, and providing updates of the vote count to-date. Also, if enough demand generates in the discussion topic for a different map candidate, that map will then be listed here, along with a full image and download link.

All maps can be downloaded and automatically installed with the map patch trial launcher. Please make sure RA2 is not running when loading the patch.

Id be up for all of them, havent played them i havent the time at the moment..... But they look reeeeaaaalllly good. No maps with stupid amounts of oil/techs either, looks good.

I think all of these would be good to add to qm. If anyone has an objection to one I'd like to hear what you think

round house kick is gonna be one hella of an allies only map.. It's gonna make korea invincible.. also american paratroopers are gonna camp those ridges like no other.

not to mention france on those narrow entrances.. the only way to the opponents base is gonna be threw a tiny narrow cooridor and that is a huge ore field which will slow the tanks up. prism and mirages campers of any half way decent allied player will destory all sovs on this map..

it looks like a fun ffg map..

but as far as a fair sided QM map I'm gonna have to give it a no vote..

if anyone else can change my mind let me state your case.

In regard to the votes for inclusion of all new maps: thanks for your support! Its great to see so many people wanting new maps available in the QM! At this time it's likely we will only include a maximum of 10 new maps in the intial patch release, however we are working to make this patch easily updatable, and if after the launch many people continue to support the inclusion of even more maps, the rest will then be added.

The reason we are not likely to include the full 15 at first is to address one of the main challenges which faced the continued use of the old map patch; that being the inclusion of too many new maps. Many whom gave the old patch a try complained that competitive play was compromised by the the inclusion of too many maps relative to the frequency with which players were matched on them. We are hoping to bring forth a patch that people enjoy, and can adapt to in a reasonable amount of time. Although as I have said, if it is found significant support remains for the inclusion of more maps, they can and will be added at a later time.

The question is a bit ambiguous. You can also include new maps in the match without including them in QM.

spoke with Isen privately regarding his opinions on the proposed maps- his main concern related to particular maps tendencies to promote camp wars, but I assured him we are studying that issue closely.

Bull run - may be good for Allied, but for Sov's, its very big, and the only way's to attack - narrow bridges, so, very bad for ground attacks. Answer - no.

Little big bay - very camping map with narrow ways of attack. At the top, its easily to block the way using Pills, Paradrops, and so on. Also, man who will first get gems, win. Answer - no.

Little piece of Island - I like the idea of stretching base to the middle. Good map for ground war, good for Naval battles, Base walk needed, wanna see more maps of this type. Answer - YES

Official tournament Q - May be good, very nice map for base Stretches, but I also think, that it need a close plase for Naval Shypyard, u know, it is very vaurnable for dolphins. Derricks in the middle, idea I think not best, because rocketers can block it, and Sovs will need Scorpion ship. Answer - May be good. Very reminds me about tournament A

Glowing Waters - Great map! Answer - YES. I like such maps, with the ability to stretch and naval battles.

Morningtide - Dont know, map didnt impressed me, but it seems, has a good balance.

Dry Heat - If u mean map from YR, so Ye-ye, must to be!!!!

Other maps I didnt see, so, I will not comment.

Just found this. Very exciting!

I tend toward maps that are built for evenness regardless of start point or faction. That being said, I feel that painted desert heavily favors the allies and specifically America due to so many areas inaccessible to all but air and paradrop, especially in range of tech. On Head for the Hills I definitely feel like there are start zones that I would prefer over others. Amazonas Delta seems a fair map but I just don't foresee many circumstances where the high ground in the North would come into play.

Aside from that I am stoked about all the other maps. Woot!
