With normal TS, I can install it, but the updates don't work. First decade it just says one or more DLL files are corrupted. (patches come installed with first decade.)

thanks in advance..

Hi m8 your problem is related to vista. Ts will do that when u install it even sometimes did it in xp. The cure is a simple one you need to set the compatibility back 2 at least xp in vista (i had to go all the way back to 98 and milinium because it didnt see the cd after everygame)

Go to start type help in the search window a window will open with a help file at the top click on help. in the help window type compatibility and it will list some topics. click on the one that says start the compatibility wizard. it will give u a option to chose from a list or manually set. If you chose from list it will show the first decade launcher and run all the first decade in the mode you chose. You can also maunually set ts to by chooseing sun.exe and game.exe in the game directory or folder and set the mode for them

Hey I had the same problem as you with a string error for red alert 2 in addition.

Firstly I went into the following location:

C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Launcher

I found an application called The First Decade Launcher.
I right clicked the application and went to properties.
Went onto the Compatibility Tab and made the following adjustments:
Run this program in compatibility for Windows XP (Service Pack 2).
Privelege level: Run this program as an administrator selected.

I think it worked then, however I also made other adjustments before attempting to run the game:

E:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Command & Conquer Red Alertâ„¢ II\RA2

Yuri Application
Ra2 Application

I followed the same procedure.

I was going to try the Tiberean sun application file next but I tested it before and it appeared to function, hence why I think it was just the settings for the Launcher.
