Try using Compatibility mode on your TS exe file.... Try Windows XP, Windows 2000 and Windows 98.

Also tick "disable visual themes" and you can experiment with the other compatibility settings there too

To do this:

Right click on your Tiberian Sun shortcut or .exe, select properties, and navigate to the Compatibility tab

Yup yup, you know what your talking about.. I have the Lan patch! :) Found here http://68.68.18.30/cnc/ts.htm And I think I have an idea how to fix my problem.

Although that would be cool as well to have two players from one house using same internet to play against online players at the same time, Im sure their a way to do that. I think it involves bridge connections but I could be wrong.

Cool, nice find :)

Yeah you know heres the thing, I've done it before...

My father and I used to play TS using the same internet connection and serial key all the time.... thats why I cant understand why it doesnt work for other people anymore...

It could have something to do with Xwis or maybe the fact that the serials are registered now, I dunno maybe something like that, but we definitely used to play off the same internet connection and it worked flawlessly in the past (granted this was many years ago though)

I'm sure there's a fix to this problem, might just take awhile to find

Yes, that makes sense! I just want to play 1 on 1 with my brother, we both have different laptops(with different ips) and the same exact copy of TS game.

Now we are sharing the same internet connection but were not trying to both play online...we want 1 on 1.
Im guessing that an internet connection wouldn't even be needed for it but I dont know cause how would we do it wireless through wifi? Or do we just use an ethernet cable and link up the laptops with out wifi on? Thanks for those with input.

You could play each other 1v1 via LAN (local network without the use of internet) or via internet if we can figure this problem out that Divine has

Problem with TS is that it uses IPX/SPX which isn't supported in Windows XP and above by default, because these newer OS's use TCP/IP. TS doesnt support TCP/IP but there is a patch or mod that allows LAN play, I believe its via TCP/IP or it could be a patch that installs IPX/SPX to allow you LAN with each other using that protocol..

I'm sure theres a few guys on this website that can help you, and a couple google searches wont hurt either

Divine made a mistake, obviously the laptops have different IP addresses however they just use the same internet connection.

They both use wireless adapters to get connectivity...

You guys think this is because both of them are using the same Serial key?

Only other thought is that its because when one player is actually in game, the ports that TS use are currently (obviously) in use, therefore when the other one tries to play at the same time, they cant due to the same ports already being used.

Thoughts?

Edit: Same Serial key does however allow them to play at the same time when using DIFFERENT internet connections...
