Well idk how you would do this without bunkers...
But maybe u should make. A survival where u get a certain amount of units and u have to travel across the map to kill something.. but waves keep spawning socthe longer u take the harder it gets! You could use walls and defenseive structures for help? Lol its an out of the box idea i had a while ago but im bad at making maps!
