'War Pro V2' map crashing after a few minutes play

13 February 2017 - 03:51 PM

I have just recently started playing Red Alert 2 again using XWIS. Having much fun reliving my adolescence. Anyway, I have downloaded an awesome map called 'War Pro V2' and successfully added it to my local RA2 directory so that it is listed when creating games. However, whenever I play this map online or in single player skirmish it crashes a few minutes in and gives an error that says the executable has failed, this doesn't happen with any other maps I have downloaded and added myself or maps that have been transferred to me by other players.

At first I thought this error could be due to the map file being faulty or something, but my friend whom I play with added the same map file and it doesn't crash for him. We both have the exact same game executable installed (from XWIS), with the same settings applied.

Anyone know what might be causing this and how to rectify it?

Many thanks in advance for any help received.  :help:

Profile Picture NOT Working

06 February 2017 - 04:36 PM

The upload 'profile pic / choose upload' functionality doesn't appear to be working in edit profile. I am uploading a fairly simple .PNG (400x500 pxl) and there's no button to upload the photo once I've chosen it?

Any ideas?

Have also tried pic at various resolutions in case it was a size issue (100x100 and 200x200)

Red Alert 2 download not working on Windows 10

06 February 2017 - 12:01 PM

I have just installed the 'Red-Alert-2-Multiplayer.exe' on my new laptop which is running Windows 10, after installation when I run the .exe as an administrator the loading screen comes up with a very small loading window (something to do with resolution settings perhaps) and then it fails to properly load the main game menu, the frame is there but none of the menu options have loaded properly and I then have to kill the program.

Solutions I have tried:

- Running in Windows 7 & 8 compatibility mode

- Running with compatibility mode unchecked (default option selected Windows XP Service Pack 2)

- Running in 640 x 480 screen resolution for all these compatibility settings

- Have also tried the 'Red_Alert_2-Windows_8_and_10_fix' but this has not worked either, I still get a small screen res and no menus

Thank you in advance for any help received.
