Time for the late questions. :/ I read the first 10 pages but not the last 5 or so...
There have been a few rumors that our WOL nicknames/passwords won't be moving over in the switch (this is mainly going on in the Renegade community). To my knowledge, XWIS depends on WOL nickname/passwords to connect you to the server. Will the usernames and passwords remain after this move is completed?
Another question is about the NAT settings that will effect Renegade players. Some players are still complaining about this being an issue on the Renegade forums. I've been able to connect to the XWIS server just fine, but there hasn't ever been a server up for me to join to see if I am experiencing any problems. Is this NAT issue resolved?
Next, what renegade accessories will be moved over? For instance, Renegade has rankings before you connect, ingame rankings, a ranking system you can access through the game its self without needing to minimize and use your browser, and the Renegade ladder you can view through a browser. Will these remain intact, or will XWIS be replacing them, or will there be none at all? In addition to this, is XWIS planning to support Renegade players as far as prizes go (assuming there is a ladder system).
I'm sure Crimsson has gone over this part with someone, but Renegade servers are very heavy IRC users. They constantly send text when players join the server and they have to communicate frequently with the quickmatch bot. This causes some bots to exceed the flood limits that EA has set on the Renegade IRC server and is an issue for larger servers currently on WOL. Is XWIS aware of this and will they be maintaining the old flood limits, if not increasing them to better support larger servers?
A lot of Renegade players have mixed feelings about this going down and there really haven't been any updates since the original post by Apoc. Since Renegade has the largest player population right now I think it would help ease some of our minds if you could give us some updates on what's done and what needs to be done before the move tomorrow. WOL for Renegade has been quite stable of late (in comparison to the first year after EA shut down Westwood) and a lot of us would like to hope XWIS is going to be the same. I personally support the move because it will help us combat cheaters and with support should be able to better configure the IRC network XWIS uses to support Renegade servers.
I hope all of these questions haven't been answered already. Looking forward to a response to pass along...
