Hello m8s,
I'm trying to install red alert, from the link that is provided in the download section, but as soon as it gets to the end the box: "txt_preparecom failure" pops up. Please help me to get beyond this error and get logged into the ra2 universe! Thank you all!

I have windows 7. When trying to click on the ra2 link, this error pops up and it's not allowing the game to load.
My friends this is urgent!
I try installing the game from the link: http://xwis.net/downloads/Red-Alert-2-Multiplayer.exe
Still not working. Help!

I'm on a computer that's ran from a company that has downloads restricted. It's the halfway house that im living with. I tried to install teamviewer, but i need admin approval. However, with ra2, i don't need admin approval.

You probably can't run RA2 for the first time on Windows Vista (and higher) without Admin rights.
That error is an error with OleAut32.RegisterActiveObject, which does some registry stuff.
