Since there's some interest from XWIS to play 2v2 games vs the Chinese, let's set up at least one series per week, every Saturday at 3PM (15:00) GMT.

We'll decide on the maps and prizes as we go along.

A Chinese team is ready to play tomorrow so we need two XWIS players who can play at that time.

Games will be played on the Chinese server and every game will be streamed and a recording saved.

Good luck!

Would be too much of a hassle to make XWIS accounts for the Chinese players since most of them don't speak any English. CnCnet or Game Ranger might be other options but I'm sure lots of them would have trouble getting there and understanding how to play.

You can get on Skype and maybe I can help you get QQ to work.

Hows the lag for qq players playing on Xwis?

Imo the lag part is the biggest issue.
I personally never logged on into QQ after the tourny's cause of this problem.

One legit server ( with leaderbord ) for everyone is still my dream.

It's that half a second delay which they can't get used to. Some of them lag on XWIS while others don't.

There will always be lag though, no matter the server. Since the distance between the players is so big, the ping will be over 200ms in most cases.

This is why most games have separate servers for each continent or geographical region and you can only play in your particular region (or that's what they suggest you do)

Since they changed their set up, id's are not working their anymore. Mine works now but I doubt people can just hop on now.

What did they change? Nothing has changed for me.

In the worst case scenario, creating a new ID should solve the problem.

EDIT: Since nobody from XWIS showed up, I played some 1v1s with them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WayMrEtsiWo

Recording should be up within half an hour.

You should do it Niek! Perhaps supply the prizes as well. I would join your tourney!

How about Marko and Latof ?!

u invite, on short notice that is, out-of-shape players in a dead community to play under a foreign rule-set with referees that clearly favor the home team and opponents that play competitively all the time as well as use tactics that we would ban them for.....

I cant speak for everyone, but the conditions would have to change in a profound way for me to even consider practicing for such an event.

Oh come on. These are just some ffgs. What kind of notice do you need? Even if I give a one month notice, I doubt anyone would start practicing like crazy for this. Besides, you know for a fact all XWIS players are out of shape and all Chinese players are in tip top shape? RA2 on XWIS was quite active this year.

Foreign rule set? Referees?! This isn't an official tournament or anything :p It's just a set time when XWIS players can play some 2v2s and get the games streamed.

Do you know for a fact that the Chinese opponents play competitively "all the time"? I wasn't aware that they had any tournaments in the last several months.

"Use tactics that we would ban them for"? Alting might be one of them but that wasn't bannable on XWIS until recently. What are the other tactics you speak of?

I mean I understand we all like to make excuses, but let's have some evidence when we make such claims. After all, you're a scientist :D

i dont think its possible for xwis players to compete with chinese in 2vs2. at least if they play france.

a viable tactic that xwis players has zero experience against. Not easy to beat.

Marko just pointed out exactly what I'm saying, eman. It's 'not possible' for us to do well playing under their settings. It isn't fun. It isn't interesting. Now, that doesn't mean I don't want it to happen-- I started this discussion after all.

What it means is that in order for the second F in FFG that u speak of to have any meaning, they need to compromise a bit and do things like no France, no alt, etc. Otherwise it's uninteresting; or impossible as Marko puts it.

I'm sure Matt-max and edd+someone will participate regardless though
