Sorry for making a new topic about this, but I didn't know what else to do. I found some trouble shooting advice for my current issue, but it doesn't seem to be relevant with my current version of windows, or rather I don't understand how to do it with my current version of windows (Windows 10).

Anyway, the problem is that when I alt+tab out of Ra2 I get a black screen when returning to it. How can I fix this issue on Windows 10? I found a way (not the way this quote says) to get to my displays, the 1 active and other not active, but after that I was stuck, as I don't have the rest of these options listed.

Note: I'm using the downloaded version from XWIS. I also put in lime-green in the following quote where I run into problems.

No game menu's are displaying, only when I Alt Tab and back into the game do they display.

  • Right click on Desktop
  • Select Screen Resolution
  • Click Detect (with no additional monitor connected)
  • Next to your first display, you'll see a grey square with the text "Another display not detected" Click on the grey square
  • Next to "Multiple displays" it will say "No display detected"
  • Click on "No display detected"
  • A drop-down menu will appear ( This is where I get stumped, as there is no drop-down menu or "Try to connect anyway" option )
  • Select "Try to connect anyway on: VGA"
  • Click on your primary display (the square with the big "1" in it)
  • Next to "Multiple displays" select "Extend these displays"

Hit the Apply button and start Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge.

You can't. The only known way to bypass the issue is running the game in a window... or not alt-tabbing altogether.
