Hi, I've been floating around xwis for a while now but never really played as i'm a gr player mainly but this last month i played a lot my name is greenhill here and anti terminator in gr. My problem is i tried to log into xwis yesterday and xwis was down when i tried to log into it, so i thought oh maybe the server is not working,so today i tried again and still the same problem, i asked a friend to try it on his pc and it worked fine so i then tried it on my laptop cause i was thinking maybe norton had blocked it but the same happened again so i can only think i have been blocked? i am a fair player no map hacks,no eat etc so why am i banned??? i did give a few nicks out 2 a few people to get more players here for ggs and i have checked there auto ss and they have not been cheating cause there also fair players sp please tell me why i am banned cause this is no way fair.thanks, mark greenhill.

Try: Checking the connection Checking the proxy and the firewall I have tried this on my other pc and i get the same problem, I've tried it with a vpn and i can access xwis so i'm lost to what is happening here have a been banned or is this a problem from my end??

hi, i have just spoken to legolas from game ranger, i gave him the nick wargamez and he was using it in xwis, he said he is blocked also and cant access xwis from his end. This is strange cause it's not just me. I have just spoken to another player he said it's cause maybe i have played wargamez in torny and the same account, now i didn't know i was not allowed to do this if i'm in the wrong i'm sorry but this seems to be a problem from your end. i need this fixing really cause i want to play in torny as there's some cool players here and i enjoy it. what can we do to resolve this?

This is an error from the browser right? I'm pretty sure we don't have IP-based blocking there.

What's the output of the tool?

Its not just the browser its the game also the game won't log into xwis at all i cant access any of it. i'm posting through a vpn browser. The tool you gave me, just gave me a trust with norton but its done nothing to solve the problem.

I think i know what has happened here, i have other nicks here in xwis my main nick is greenhill now i have gave nicks out to other players and they in different parts of the world, i gave to legolas -wargamez and i made a nick called qwertygr and gave to qwerty in gr, i have played wargamez in 1v1 i was trying to teach him about game a bit we have played like 10 games out of the ten i have lost 2. I am not really bothered with points right now i'm just playin for fun and i get more games when i make torny games. i did use wargamez nick myself once the other day vs lucus cause i was high and only wanted a quick game so maybe this is why i have been blocked. i will cancel all nicks and use only 1 in future if you fix this issue and could you give these players there own nick so this don't happen again.thanks

Of course the game won't work if the browser doesn't work.. what output does the Test function in the client give you?
You could also try to ping xwis.net, what output does that give?
And what about that hosts file?

Hi, i tried pinging xwis.net and it says the request has timed out also the the test dont work , i have not tampered with any files at all. i have 2 pcs and it dont work on any of them.

That's weird, the IP is correct though. Could you try a tracert?

You could try another computer on your internet connection or your computer on another internet connection..

yh i have tried this with a diffrent pc on the same net it don't work there either if i havnt been banned i don't know what has happened here. il look into the this tracert.

ok i have fixed this i can play if i use a vpn its the only way. are other players ok to use my other nicks? and can i play against them in torny?

Could you email your IP address to olaf@xwis.net?
The only other thing I can think of is it being blocked automatically by a firewall at our host.

Have you found any thing out??? cause this vpn is not not working now the only way is for me to pay for it but i should not have to do that really.

All lines of tracert showing time outs is very weird as well.

You could request help from your ISP..

I had an issue once where my ISP had blocked my ability to connect to XWIS- was about 5 years ago- I called them and they sorted it out.
