Hi.

 

My friend (JamoHD) is trying to launch RA2 from the Ultimate Collection (I purchased it for him for his Origin account) and at first we had "unable to set video mode". I tried everything I could find on Google, here at ST and EA but it wouldn't work...until now..I don't know what I did though. We tried the resolution patch, it didn't work. I tried with the CnCGraphicsPatch, not sure if that worked or not. But either way, that video mode is gone from RA2, but remains for YR. When loading up RA2, his menu and screen appears up but no mouse at all. He uses a trackpad.

 

His laptop is as follows:

Acer Aspire ES1-512

 

Processor & Memory
Processor: Intel® Celeron® CPU  N2840  @ 2.16GHz
Physical memory: 4 GiB

Operating system
Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Home
Version: 10.0.10586

 

Video card: Intel HD Graphics

Make sure you disable Origin functionality for RA2/YR (and all other TUC games, for that matter) and apply the fixed TUC launchers. This will stop Origin from resetting everything to the botched stock settings.

 

Then follow the exact specifications for Win8.1/10 fixes in this support forum for both RA2 and YR.

So here is the issue I get even after installing that launcher fix.

Okay so not even this works. Still getting the same error, or if it works and launches the game, I get no mouse at all.

Regarding video mode not set, try setting your game resolution to the same size as your desktop resolution. & Make sure your video drivers are up to date.

We tried these options, it still didn't work. YR says the same thing as far as the video mode.

Upload your ra2md.ini file, it could be you've written something wrong.

hello

 

i have the same problem. UNABLE TO SET VIDEO MODE.

 

i bought c&c collection from origin.

 

my pc is intel core i7-6500 CPU 2.5Ghz, 4 Gb RAM and AMD Radeon R7 M340
