Hey there!

First post here, I've done some googling but I just can't seem to find the right answer. My friend and I want to do some Co-op Red Alert 2 and so far it's a lot of fun! However, out of the two of us only he seems to be able to host the games, but if I then join his game I get forced to the 640x480 resolution (setting the game to the 1024*768 resolution also works).

When I host the game he doesn't get forced the resolution but after we load into the game we disconnect from eachother. I've tried all pinned stickies so far but no success.

I'm running windows 8.1 and playing the Origin Red Alert 2 version (that was free a while back).

Any ideas? If just one of these things can get fixed that'd be great :D

Cheers,

Sigh

PS: Do people still play old Renegade? Renegade X is shit.

I've tried the first one, the second one's file is unfortunately missing from dropbox.

Cheers,

It's fixed now!

Sorry for double post and bump, just wanted to put this here in case anyone with the same problem stumbles across this through google.

I did not get the hosting part fixed but I don't get my resolution forced anymore. Problem for me was with the multiplayer XWIS version of Yuri's Revenge my menu would not show up. I tried all the sticky fixes for it and it still wouldn't work.

However I then came across http://blog.obelisk.ro/2010/09/resolution-fix-for-red-alert-2-yuris.htmlthis, at the bottom theres a FROZEN MENU SCREEN - FIX for Windows 8 ddraw issues. This fix got my menu working on the XWIS Red Alert 2 Yuri Revenge version.

Hope this might help someone!
