Hey guys im posting this for my brother....

 

Hi M8´s! i´ve got win 8.1 – it is not posible for me to play the normal quickmatches. After 30-60 seconds my screen turns black – has some an solution? (@Lobby it is no problem to play tourney,ffg games) Either i cant install new maps......i downloaded them-where do i hav to put them?

There really isn't any difference between QM and custom games.

What's his nick? Does he use XWIS version?

first i tought i was using the cd version but i am unsure because in my downloads there is the normal download from here.

 

i just downloaded it again-and 2 qm´s were normaly "playable"^^ - but scrolling was quit slow even set it up to fast. Further new maps are not enabled :-(

The problem is back.... after did 4-5 quickmatches in the following games the screen got froozen. wtf is the matter?

Ah, mate. Do you have Intel Core i3/i5/i7 or something like that?

I had similar issue, but more rare (not every game), screen also froze: http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/182642-game-freezing-and-hof-eligibility/

Solution:

1. Open Task Manager
2. Go to Processes tab
3. Click "see processes of all users"
4. Right click on "game.exe"
5. Select "affinity"
6. Only click 1 CPU like in my screenshot

my Laptop is a i7 - 3,2Ghz Aspire Acer V3 

 

 i will try your suggest (if is called like that-otherwise sry, i am german^^)

 

i installed the one of Frequenzy´s Link and it works next 2 games.

 

If i do yours-only for red alert 2 will take one cpu ( not other games)?

Yes, it's only for Red Alert 2 not for other games! You'll need to do it every time you start RA2. Try it.

 

Allow me to make a joke, as RA2 uses some dummy synchronization mechanism which is bound to fail on heavily multithreaded machines.
