Origin is sending you directly to XWIS forums, XWIS is supported by EA, XWIS took over when Westwood died. Yes we can handle new users, use orgin serial and activate it on xwis. Download XWIS ra2 version http://xwis.net/downloads/Red-Alert-2-Multiplayer.exe to get all new maps, auto ss uploader

Yes, XWIS can handle new users. Have fun playing online and let us know if you have any problems.
As mzjpk said, if you would like the new maps and some extra features, you can also download the XWIS version of the game for free as well.

hi tunetu, welcome to xwis
could you please specify some details:
You and your friend are both able to enter the custom lobby and create/join games, but when the host launches the game you are unable to connect to others?
what is the exact error message? What operating system are you using?

Tell your friend to set up DMZ for his router and add mph.exe (from the game folder) to the firewall exceptions.
Use Google to find instructions for each process as they are quite lengthy.

Good luck if his IP is dynamic.

Good luck if his IP is dynamic.
Doesn't change anything, it's the router's IP that's dynamic.
If you set up DMZ you need to set a static IP for the DMZ connection anyway, to be able to connect to that DMZ in the first place.

Heh, I managed to make the game work, it only works with the RA2 version on the forums (from here).
People need to know that they can't play with the Origin version of the game from the start, so that they can download it from the above link.
Anyway, thanks for trying to help guys, much appreciated.
EDIT: Also, they should install the game separately (something that is not mentioned anywhere), because if they don't, the game won't load the movies of the game, also they won't be able to play Scenarios in singleplayer.
EDIT2: If there isn't any thread yet, maybe someone from the Staff could make one and should say from the start that we need to download it.

Thanks, maybe in some cases it won't work, as my friend had the same problem.
Can I make a thread here in the Support forums, for future players that face the same problem as I did?
