Hello,

I have just installed a new monitor, as my previous one had the white screen of death.

Since installing the new monitor ( Samsung 27" sd390) whenever I tab out of game and back to desktop I can continue on desktop without problem, but when I then want to come back into RA2 all as I see is a black screen for about 1.5 seconds then it switches straight back to desktop.

If I ctrl alt del I can close the application, but I cannot re launch RA2.

I have to re boot the pc entirely to get back to gaming.

I haven't changed anything else other than a new monitor.

Any ideas on how to correct the issue please?

Thanks

Run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 98 and run it as administrator at all times.

Try using the C&C Graphics Patcher as well: http://www.stuffhost.de/files/cnc/

Hmmmm    It did work but now it has reverted back to the problem.

Mate, it was already set to the same, but thanks for trying anyway

Do you have The Ultimate Collection version? If so, you'll need this: http://bibber.eu/downloads/cnc-ultimate-collection-launchers/ and then you'll need to disable Origin for TUC games.

NO, I don't. I have the xwis multiplayer version download from this site.

Been using it for long time now and the only issue has been since I changed my monitor.

Change refresh rate to 60hz.

Jason, the only setting I can find is for 60 Hz, which it is already set at.

Update:  The game is still running in the background when I try to get back into it, but it goes to a black screen (with music audible) then drops back to desktop.

Further update: So the game is still running, but just failing to get back to the Monitor, other than momentarily until it kicks itself back to the desktop.

What resolution are you using? Could be a bug in the monitor firmware that it says it can handle a non-native resolution when it can't...

Besides the original resolutions, I've tested RA2 at 1280x1024 1280x768 1360x768 1680x1050 1920x1080...
