Hey. I've noticed a few proven cheat reports resulting in random selections of ban durations. Why is this? Wasn't there a procedure for all bans that are/were the same durations? I remember that it used to be 16, 32, 64, perm back in the day, then it was changed from 32, 64 then perm. Now it seems to be randomized under the discretion of a ST admin who responds. (Mikey/Sean) I've seen a number of proven cheat reports with "3, 6, 8, 10, 128" etc durations.

Well it's a pointless thread. Why would ST need to justify their reason for ban durations to you?

It's a relatively simple question to ask. I'm not trying to ask/get any justification, I am simply asking a SIMPLE question. I and everyone else has a right to ask a question regarding ban durations.

AFAIK the regular ban durations you speak of are still in force for ranked games. Those games with different ban durations are FFG's which are less lengthy and it looks as if the player is given more chances.

Thank you hardman. At least someone actually posted relevant to my question and wasn't too stupid to post useless shit instead.

 

Although I've noticed some players cheating with presi, they only get 8 days ban to then be allowed to come back and continue to use a presi? Although I understand that some people stop with the cheating after their first ban, but they do still try it when they think nobody is expecting it surely?

 

With people using fog hacks, I simply don't see the point? What's it's point of use? All it does is darken the map as far as I've seen?

Keeps doubling after that

In non-ranked games, how many times would it double? I mean, surely a player would reach their perma ban eventually?

I don't think so. If it keeps doubling it won't take long for it to be as good as perm anyway.

32 days
64 days
permanent ban.

Ffg's

8 day ban
16 day ban and then 16 again repeatedly. It doesn't double.

Ban dodging.

If you dodge a ban your current ban time is reset and doubled.

A bit silly to repeatedly make 16 day bans but I can understand why it'd be that.

Bear in mind there was no punishment for cheating in FFG's not so long ago..
