How many of these people online were actually playing? How many games were being played simultaneously? We had 23 TS games simultaneously on at peak yesterday with about 67 people playing. And 108 RA1 games simultaneously. Also hit a player peak of 512 players.

People are mostly afk in the lobby than actually opening up games. And almost (if not all) are modded maps.

Honestly I never have a problem finding a game when I come on. I've been quite pleased with the activity since I've came back in october. Is that a function of it being the holiday time of the year I guess the next couple months will tell us

Keep in mind that around winter time activity always is higher.

No idea actually. According to http://xwis.net/ts/games/ only25 TS games were played yesterday. I'm really curious about the number for CnCNet, it will be possible to record that info in the future, not sure if it already is possible today. We also host the GameSpy master server list replacement for Renegade since it was shutdown in August last year.
