Hello Everyone,

 

It is inspired after seeing http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/180207-1v1-tournament-cash-entries-prizes/

 

The Plan: Utilizing fundraising websites: http://www.gofundme.com/tour/

or another site there are actually a lot of them. We would need one that supports a wide array of countries

 

Tournament Style: Screw 1 v 1 I think we can do quite a bit actually I remember there was a month on xwis where alot of old players came back to participate it was top of ladder, several tournaments, as well as most games played etc.

 

We as a community can put some money in this I can do 50.00 to get it started. If Olaf wants to make it sanctioned that would be great so everyone knows someone is disbursing the funds and/or prizes is trustworthy...

 

There are a lot of ideas that we as a community can come up with. I remember there was even via country like the ra2 olympics last time there was a big prize giveaway.

 

So the question is can we as a community get some pledges for donation amounts set a time date and goal. and have a 1 month increase in activity with possibly winning some money or cool prizes.

 

What do you guys say?

 

Olaf: Can you make it sanctioned and make it an official xwis event with you as the trustee?

 

Is the month of December or January a good month? No one here is getting any younger!

Could we make it a 2v2 tourny? December would be the best month I believe and if the game carry into January so be it. I'd be down to throw in like 20 for a 2v2 tourny.

I'll say it again, i vote for prize invasion. The last one bought a fair few players back- albeit temporarily- and you could see a boost in activity. I believe mass emails were sent out to advertise as well.

That was the name it was a great event, it was called Prize Invasion.

I agree and it was very badass there were all types of activities going on. It was also an official event so we need Olaf to make it Official. Money is needed to do this kind of event. I pledged 50 Nathan pledged 20

 

And Nathan there would be a 2 v 2 tournament if it is like there was last time.

I notice people are saying they will participate but can there be any monetary pledges, 1.00,5.00,10.00 etc.?

 

At this time We need to see if this can even be done. Does the community have enough pull to raise money for the event and will Olaf participate in the event or delegate the power to one of the ST Admins? For admin pages and utilizing the scripts that were done last time? I know they exist it's a matter of can we make this happen...

Towards Rumblesom sorry bro, I cannot login to my skype at the moment Microsoft screwed up and switched my account with someone elses username is different and passwords and emails are different very strange thing happened. I don't even know the username of the account I just logged into lol I login to my account via email and it shows all chinese names and calls me Jessica Phan. So I don't know PM me your skype info and I'll get on another account to talk about this.

Maybe there is some money in the donation pot for it? IDK only Olaf can answer that, not sure how it was funded last time.

If you work out who's donating what as prizes and create a topic with participants ill help organise/advertise it.

well the biggest issue is time schedules, last time we did this it took ages for games to get done because no one was set in stone when they would play, if I contribute at all I would like some sort of system set up to as when players will play, I will not throw money at something that disorganized is what im saying, the advertisement probably wont seem fit as more people who will compete in it are on s-t already lol

 

also just a thought, if it's a cash tournament, I think everyone should at least have a $5 buy in. break down prizes as such

 

1.) 65%

2.) 15%

3.) 10%

house (xwis) : 10%

 

random prizes : games by EA ect. if that is the case i'll use my EA games towards prizes as well as i'll never play them

if you want a big cut, take home gold, just like any other competition

This would be a community operation. without community nothing would happen but if we can make this sanctioned and agree on what should be done we can really do this.
