Reduce the delay

Is there anything to do to get this 0.5 sec of delay reduced? games runs at +55 fps but still unplayable if units respond too late.

It ruins tc and make desos useless.

 

Anyone else having same issue? can it be fixed ?

It's caused by your network, distance, physics, poor netcode in the game.

I can improve it for you a bit though, get on Skype.

Right, but in gr it runs smooth if there is no lag.

Just want to try some cm ^^

Gr runs smooth because you dont have to connect to france, where xwis is hosted. Gr makes a virtual network with the players you play. This means that you obviously connect to places closer to your country.

Edit: actually im not sure. If the game started you dont connect to xwis anymore. Hmmm, martin?

Ra2 is P2P, it doesn't use the server for the ingame connection.

Meaning if we connect the data travels from me to you, you to me, not me to xwis to you..

Hey, I'm having serious delay problems!

 

At least 1 second or more in some games after I click. It is bad!

 

On Cncnet I have no problem with this, which is why I noticed it immediately after a few games of playing on XWIS. Not sure if it is me or the server. Any help appreciated.

After a few games it appears that it is the normal server delay. It was odd as one person in particular, Megaman, had some serious delays with me. Other than that game, the delay seems to be the normal server delay that I've always seen.

 

So, no problem unless the problem persists with more players.
