Quick question about resolutions

Best Answer dsector, 10 September 2014 - 10:07 PM

Maximum resolution is determined by your monitor (and video card). If the maximum resolution of your laptop's screen is 1366x768 then of course you can't play RA2 at a higher resolution. The screen is limited to that no matter what game or program you run.

Hi all,

If the maximum resolution for my laptop is 1366x768 then can I play RA2 at a higher resolution?

I haven't been able to play anything higher than this and when I change the RA2.ini to a higher resolution the game reverts back to 640x480.

However I recently attached via HDMI to a secondary device thats running a higher resolution and eureka I was able to play up to 1920x1080.

That seems the case. I had already tried the resolution patch and the maximum is 1366 etc. whereas I wanted the 1920 etc.

It's got to be my screen reso thats stopping me

Dsectors info is only partially correct; if you have a 1920x1080 resolution or a 19x12 = you can play the game at that resolution...

What happens is:

If the map itself is smaller (little big map) then your screen will glitch and jump like crazy if you move the mouse to the edge.

-Also if you run a Multi Monitor setup with Surround and attempt to span the game across all three screens - it will fail using every known method I've attempted.

-Unsure of Eyefinity capabilities.
