Which changes don't you like? The patch is modular. You can choose which changes to keep.

You can just install the patch core.

Improvements

Removed the CD check function to allow playing without a CD in the drive.
Removed the intro videos at game start.
Included the RA2 map patch add-on.
Included the automatic screen-shot taker and uploader for XWIS.
Included the official Westwood map packs.
Improved the game's font.
Improved details of temperate terrain graphics.
Updated and simplified the game's user interface.

Updated the HotKeys with a more ergonomic layout.
Added a custom shortcut icon for easy identification of the patched version.

The ones that are striked out are the ones I don't like. Also the screenshots below from the topic link you provided I don't like the look of either. I'm not discriminating against the update, it's just out of my personal opinion.

EDIT: Which options are best without the interface improvements and terrain enhancements?

EDIT #2: Well that's the patch out of the question. I get this error:

You've probably installed the patch in the wrong directory. Only install the first 3 components (from the top down). The game will download the new maps on it's own.

What's wrong with playing without the CD?

Also seeing the Westwood/EA logo every time you start the game is 'preferred' for you?

Do you have Skype? I can fix it up for you just the way you want it over Teamviwer.

I honestly don't mind seeing the Westwood/EA intro. :p I like to know that the game installation is of it's original and retail version, and not an unofficial patch/update that changes it. I like to know that my game is fully retail and legitimate and that it works as it should do like the CD version. :) I asked ZigZag (already had him on Skype) to help with it on TeamViewer, however after he copied over the theme.mix and the movie credits/cutscene mix files it still wasn't the way I wanted it as some things said MISSING still.

All I want is for my game to work properly (retail CD version) and still have the all the new XWIS MP included maps without actually using the XWIS multiplayer version.

I have PM'd you my Skype username.
