Red Alert 2 uses bink video... (that's what your title is asking)

There are several graphics wrappers posted on the internet, if I remember correctly then two of them use OpenGL and the others use a custom ddraw.dll for software renderer emulation.

You could attempt to port it, but I'm afraid it wouldn't play any good on phones or tablets, it would be very hard to play the game enjoyably on a touch interface.

this bink video codec, its only used ingame for the movies ingame ?

there are openGL posibilities on android, i need to take a deeper look into this,

hmm... The format was reverse-engineered so i reckon the actual game does not

if bink is only video,,. stripped down version - possible ?

videos can be deleted or converted to avi/mp4 for android version .?

the xwis version does it start without the codec in folder? ummm .

thinking of too much at once lol, i want to build a decent good working ra2 , without performance issues

please let me know if u have any ideas

The bink video codec is used to display in game movie sequences, such as the introduction video when you start the game for the first time.

This includes the animation that plays on the main menu, the one with the radar image and the game logo.

As far as I know the game uses DirectX 7 to render everything.

I do believe that it's possible to convert the .bik videos into other formats, but I haven't researched anything about encoders that would do it.

I know how to improve RA2's performance on the PC, but not on Android. Google for " Red Alert 2 Unofficial Patch ".
