So using engineers is fine at some point or you're all laughing at the guys who do use them?

It is lame, more lame then engineers. Droning miners and getting a lucky kill is lame.

Go try to engi then, you'll find that it's harder on RA2.

It's super easy, you have like 3 transporter who run around at the speed of sound and then engineers are strangely strong so with two engineers you can capture any building guarded by a pillbox

You'll find that those transports won't reach my buildings and if they do they'll be met by dogs, drones, rockies, hidden pillboxes that are waiting to target the engineers.
When one does manage to get past the defenses he'll be greeted by emerging infantry from a sold building.

While you're focused on this engi, my drone has already taken out one of your miners! GG

Not if I drone your miner and flak at the same time!!! :O GG wp

Honestly though, I would drone first as the distraction because his base > his one ore collector
Posted 18 July 2014 - 02:26 AM
Do you think a player would spend his time looking at the damaged ore miner while he's building a service depot?

Walls are a very underutilized defense, there has been many times where I saved my Con Yard from rhinos killing it with one wall and an engineer.

No, but he would look at what is attacking, then he would build the service depot, and that's like a 5 second window right there

In that case you'd build a engineer straight after the drone and a flak track, a good player would look at you and see both coming in that case, it's not easy to drone good players, so you'd end up juggling both the drone and the flak.

Well, one will suceed, the other will have been the distraction
