HI guys long time no see

 

I now have a macbook pro and am looking to play Ra2 / YR  sparingly.

 

I understand it is quite difficult to get this working on the mac. I have managed to get Ra2 to work through I think wineskin as it now works but cannot for the life of me get YR to work? Can someone give me a step by step guide on how to make this work?

 

I have also tried Parallels VMWare etc but it lags so cannot use those.

 

My latest effort is to try and partition bootcamp with windows 7 which I am able to boot perfectly and install but when I run the game it is a black screen. I am not sure if it is something to do with the catalyst control centre by AMD as I cannot even pick up my second monitor in the graphics settings. Windows 7 is working I've tried to download all of the software by AMD / Catalyst but it just doesn't want to load the games. Even after I try compatibility modes.

 

What's the long / short answer to my issues.

Try getting all the updates for directx 9c and run the game in win 98 / XP compatibility.

Did you run the game as administrator and did you try to disable UAC? Perhaps it's just a matter of waiting a bit longer.

Maybe the black screen when downloading the new maps?

Olaf, the game loads to the menu and I can hear the sound but cannot see the menus.

I waited around 5/10 mins and then shut it down.
I've turned UAC off and done the compatibility on all application files within the install directory

Any help would be appreciated

Can you give full details of the compatibility and ra2 related settings in use?

And 95 on all .exe files

Does your macbook have an interlaced graphics?

 

Check your  to see what is currently in use by your system.

 

YR will not run on an interlaced graphics frequency, check your screen refresh rate and ensure the option chosen isnt interlaced.

 

If this fails i can assist at sometime via teamviewer if possible.

Managed to get it working - i rebuilt Bootcamp and installed Nvidia drivers instead of the automatic ones Bootcamp gave me now all my problems are resolved.

 

I have two black bars either side of YR now though even after I've changed resolution in game and done hires. Any ideas?

Put tape over them or just don't look at them. Sucks you're back. Thought we had rid of you for good.
