Using the standard settings of Bandicam should be enough to record decent smooth and sharp quality. Just change to full size recording. Get a crack of Bandicam - it will remove the Bandicam-logo while recording. Message me on Skype, if you need more help.

There's so many recording programs out there. Just use what's best for you. I guess Hypercam and Bandicam is most common.
But the most important thing, when you record, is that your viewers can see, what's going on in the video. Quality is second.
Edit: To Josh.

You can adjust Bandicam's settings to fairly low settings that is still watchable. I'm not sure which settings you can adjust on the trial version but if you can, lower the SIZE, FPS and QUALITY. Also, in RA2 -> options, set Visual Details to LOW, and your desktop to 16bit.i wont record anymore becuz im 3 times worse on 1440 reso and it lags a little...
You may have to adjust your graphics card settings as modern features slow down older games. If it's GeForce, I can post my RA2 settings which I think are pretty optimal.i just got a new computer- will be looking to record once i figure out recording software n all. Tim get hypercam2 you can record on 1990 resolution, and use 7fps. And it dont lag and gets pretty good capture.
That sounds horrible. Wouldn't 7fps be extremely bad?

what he means is that thats how the recorder records, it doesnt make the game lag, or anything run at 7fps.

I think I understand what he means, I guess im not too sure though. I just don't think recording 7fps is any good. I've been streaming at 25fps and have been wanting to increase it to get it smoother. I guess if it prevents lag then it could be a good idea.
How many fps will the recorder be recording?

And you cant keep up with my speed lol.
5fps is a bit laggish.
7fps was pretty good for me (settings wise)
Idk why but it's the only thing that worked for me lol
