I recently reinstalled RA2 & YR..I updated RA2's MP and I am trying to do the same with YR but it just sits there and then eventually freezes.

 

my window's firewall is off as well as my AVP software..

 

is there a server issue?!

What version of windows are you running?
When it freezes during installation do you get an error message?

You need to wait long enough to let the game update. it may take time depending on your Pc and internet. While it is updating it will show a black screen, Do not minimize the game. Have fun.

windows 7.  no error messages, it just freezes up.

I'm on a 50/25 fios line, it shouldn't take a while as it hasn't in the past.

 

anyhow, I got it fixed by running the westwood update from the YR folder rather than directly from within the game.

IIRC XWIS YR doesn't have an updater.

if you try to play MP on YR, you have to patch it.

Ah, that depends on what installer you're using. The original auto-update might not be working.
