What are some things you used to do in RA2/YR for months, or maybe even years, and later on realized that you shouldn't have been doing it, or that there's a better way to do it?

For instance, I used to;
-chase rhinos with my grizzlies even when the numbers were pretty even.
-go all in with all my rhinos to take out a grand cannon instead of distracting it with one at a different direction and then charge in with the rest, or use V3s and Kirovs.
-chat to my opponent while they engi my base.
 
What are some things you've adjusted or completely stopped doing in RA2/YR?

Talking in game is never a good call, something I used to do a lot more when I first started qming.
Attacking without fodder is a big one too, I still forget to bring dogs with me all the time and it usually bites me in the ass later, but I have fun trying to out tc without fodder so it works out. 
Not using hot keys was another big one when I just started playing (used them playing TOE before qm I guess though).
Not using rally points for the barracks at the beginning of the game for dogs/engis/gis, was another one that really helped out even though it's a very small detail.

Cancelling tanks to make flack and right clicking the tanks icon so fast that when u click the flack it stays on hold, dont know if i explained this right.

Oh good, I thought this^ just happens to me! This happens to me a lot, especially when there's lag. But sometimes it happens coz I accidentally right-click the flak-tracks as well!

Accidently starting to contruct naval yard insteed of war factory beacuse im used to non-water map, and since you have to right click maybe 5 times in order to actually cancel a building under progress you will have your wf come out atleast 3 seconds to late. (doesnt have often but when it does its annoying)

The worst is when it's on a map that doesn't even have any naval factor, it's something that always used to throw me off when coming to ra2 from yuris (I don't think any yuri's maps have this problem)

Fighting vs iraq and getting trapped by like 5 desos while enemy tanks wreck havok on your base has happend a few times, usually means gg.

yup lost more than 1 game to this... needless to say I won more than 1 game because of it as well

sending a few rockies and/or planes into enemy base only to discover he has a flak cannon built there which is hidden and totally owns you.

 

Accidently grouping up all miners with your tanks so you loose alot of mining-time.

The 'T' bug, this used to happen to me a lot id select 1 unit by clicking it and my 'T' button would be jammed or something, next thing u know everything comes.. absolute disaster when your splitting lol

brings my miners a lot of the time- ruins my game in the most frustrating way

Sorry, but if T ruins your game by selecting all miners, then yes you're unlucky but you're also very unskilled imo. May mess you up temporarily..but you should notice them far sooner than the point where you're gonna lose due to it.

Yeah, waypoints seem to fix this problem. Speaking of this, I still don't know which Snow Valley or Cold War is the fixed version in xwis -> Game Account -> RA2 Maps!
