So, first time of playing for years. I've followed the tutorial for how to get RA2 up and running, but when I click custom game I recieve "Requesting channel list" followed after a minute by "Disconnected from server."

Any help?

did u put "xwisserver" in optrions of game as prefered server? try this and tell us if it works now

Thank you for your swift reply.

I did not, it seems, change the preferred server. At the moment it is "XWIS", but when I click the dropdown list, it's the only option and there seems for me to be no way to edit it.

run game as administrator? did u register ur serial and created a nick at the controlpanel?

The only account on my laptop is an administrator and I did register my serial and nick, yes.

so can u enter the lobby and then get disconnected? or you not even get there?

Occasionally I'll get into the lobby but I'll be the only one there.

Then, if I create a game I'll get "Leaving game channel" then "Creating game channel" then "You have been disconnected"

whats the error message u get in the lobby( SID ) number? maybe make a screenshot of it and post here!?

There's no error message in-lobby, just the leaving, creating and d/c messages.

create a nick in c-p and ther u get a password for it and log in with the password and nick u created

In the end it seems I just created the nick and registered my serial, but neglected the password. Don't know how I missed that.
