[[-BA-] Piscinex]

I miss RA2 a little bit. I played a few months ago (mainly on the Chinese server) and had a lot of fun, but XWIS was a little bit dead (hard to get games).

I'm thinking about doing another 1.007 tourney. Probably with a lot of changes (I went f*cking mental on the last couple of versions I seem to remember, so I think I'd probably go back and fix all that so it was a lot more straightforward).

Would anyone play?

as long as it gets past RO8(?) without becoming a different game over night:D rolled back to the version before the groups finished (as in the old 1.007 but with a few minor changes) it would be good.

Sorry to be a little off-topic...

All the RA2/YR modders should get together and make ONE awesome new VERSION. I said "version" instead of "mod" because imo, only graphics, sfx, bug-fixes and such should be changed. Anything that affects gameplay such as fire-power, armor, speed or even maps should be left alone. Basically, having to re-learn the game after all these years will just deter people from downloading the new VERSION.

Examples of things that should be modified/added...

• bug fixes
• new or modified voxels
• new unit colors
• menu/lobby graphics (maybe new buttons that link to Strike-Team or YouTube vids or other useful links)

...things of that nature. Obviously the new version will not be online-compatible with the current version, but if done properly, I'm confident that most people will use it, and that the rest will inevitably follow and soon discover what they've been missing out on.

BTW who does the RA2 QM map patch thing? I need to check some stuff with them so that 1.007 and the QM patch don't fight

Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure that rumblesom and Frequenzy have been making the new maps, and Olaf adds them to the Red Alert 2.0.0.2 patch and XWIS Control Panel, i think.

Pretty much everyone has to use the map patch thing because of the auto ss uploader (if you want to be top ladder player).

The SS auto uploader just includes a hacked exe with new screenshot taking code and maps downloader injected into the exe.
