How did the westwood ladder look like? Any pictures?

I like the ladder design as it is. It looks modern enough not a bit like Microsoft DOS, is simple to use, elegant and functional.

What I would like to see is detailed unit counts for each game being added. Should be possible, no? Would be cool, I think many players would like this.

I don't like the ladder design as it is. It looks like its from 1999.

Hmm, I guess that's preference. The current XCL ladder looks more modern than westwoods IMO... If you look at the westwood-style ladder, it has those space wasting star stripes next to each nick and funny looking useless green smileys. With XCL-style, you get 3 times more rows onto the screen. Also on the westwood-style ladder the stats used to be quite messed up (non-telling compared to XCL) IIRC.

i didnt say the different emblem's made an important difference did i? i simply stated i liked the westwood version...

I think even small changes could make a significant impact on the appearance of the ladder (and control panel), just to modernize them a bit without hurting functionality and appeal. What about something like this (attached)? I believe I have everything except the emblems accounted for. Let me know what you guys think

The date column is on the current ladder system, so I just naturally ported it over.

Speaking of emblems, is it possible to still get those? Only reason I havent put serious time into quickmatch is because I feel like it'd be a waste of time.

while I think the ladder is functional enough, I think a more modern design like suggested above is more appealing to the 'new generation'.

Wasn't There a blacklist before? i'm wondering if there can be an extra spot for people who alt (engi eat isn't that bad, and on some maps it's a must)
and if there are topics in fairplay,(or however you would want do it). then when you look at there stats on the ladder there is a check mark or it could be a Badge
that means they alt


Or a badge for fair players, who don't alt etc.. idk

Same with the proposed design. Also there's way too many precious vertical pixels going to waste for a single nickname! I wouldn't like it. If you put the search box in the middle it would improve usability but would probably look "bad". Surely an alternate design could be put up for those that really need an optically appealing design so much...

when you check the online list for ra2, you either see if someone is online or in the lobbies (ex. USA COMMAND), is there any chance to see if someone is in qm?

like: "QM" or "QM que"

sometimes youre in the lobby or reading forums or whatever and it would be nice to see whos in the QM

if its not much work for olaf to do, its a would be nice to have

another possibility would also be - take donations to few hundreds then spend them on serials and do a give-away

like contact olaf/xwis and ask/demand for a serial or pass it to a trustful chinese guy who passes it further to his m8s who are interested, or on a chinese forum

just wondering, have there been any adversiting on the other servers/networks? whats the current status/main problem?

not knowing about xwis or no serials? or still both?

i'd say the main problem is Serials. it is hard for normal s-t members to advertise because in order to play on XWIS or even view the forum.. you need to have a valid serial registered; so even joining the community is a hard thing to do without a serial.
I also think that s-t should hold some type of tournaments on other networks with serial as a prize.. or a "you beat me you get a serial" type thing. that way there is a reason to play on this server, and it's not just a desperate attempt to create activity on a server with good players... where bad players probably wouldn't even care if there is a ladder or not.

also i think that there has to be some incentive for noobs to join s-t.

a. ok that is a good incentive.. if they were able to understand our tips+tactics section that wouldn't be a bad thing.
-Reactivation of xwis buddies
a. even if they can't speak the language they can sure watch and learn.

i think emilio has a waiting list of people who want serials.. but can't afford them? .and i don't think there is anypoint to keep advertising until we know how many serials, or what the next step in this plan is.
Another idea would be that any players who get top ten get a refund on serials?
or any person who gets top 5 that is a first month member gets a free serial to give away to a mate.
or give out 1 month trial serials and anybody who gets top ten can stay here. the rest pay.
im just randomly brainstorming but yeah, seems like this momentum died after a few days.... SO!
if we knew what resources we were working with etc... it would be alot easier.

somebody who has spam bots should spam every room in QQ with a few lines but idk how to make bots.
