When someone figures out a way to upload modified SSs, since the patch was made by Olaf, I'm sure he'll be able to make another update to the patch to ensure that the correct files are uploaded.

So who's gonna do the Cheat-Reports-Analyser Internship? :D

And in the mean time whilst you decide on how to improve the future of cheat reporting, What about getting the outstanding cheat reports, which are currently standing at up to two months old, actioned?
There have been plenty of views of this topic by game analyzers, so they haven't abandoned ship just yet.

Maybe if everyone is forced to use the Auto SS on QM or TourneyM it will be :
1-No need for new staff.
Also no need for much time and knowledge with this method.
What do you say dear Olaf ?

1, There will always be a turnover of staff, so new staff will be required from time to time,
There will still be the "recon error, prez, all unit hack" cheat reports, which teh auto ss uploader wont necessarily catch, that will need to be looked at.

When a topic is incomplete, we can complete it without risking a warning for posting in the cheat then report that we have no connection with the topic?

I take this topic for exemple : http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/172168-ih8u0ih8u-re-washed/page__pid__1480290#entry1480290

I agree, or just a simple "xgs is needed" or "you must upload a SS with the dpl info in it" and explain why, if they ask.Only unecessary comments like "Yeah I played him too" or spam posters should be warned and have their post deleted. I'm aware that Knit already has a lot to do as it is with cheat-reports, but if others are allowed to help him, they can lessen the burden. Educating all the people with incomplete cheat-reports will take more time, but in the long run will make it easier for Knit and whoever else takes care of the cheat-reports.

That's already too much asked (from some). XGS is not needed for everything nor is a perfectly valid screenshot as it seems. Unfortunately I think it's best to leave the what's needed decision up to admins, although I'd like to see a select group of members that would be allowed to do it too. Maybe a little too wishful though, players with a good sense for fairness who would be willing to do it may be next to impossible to find.

Process of banning cheaters seems to take ages, and it's annoying to see cheaters online in the lobby chatting shit.

By messaging players you mean in game right? I think that's a really good idea (similar to how you currently have the page set up for washes), have a page sent out once someone from the team is working on the report, I'm sure there may even be some players that don't come on the forums and may not even know they're being reported. Also, I think if someone admits to being guilty, a direct ban is definitely in order, but maybe also a reduced ban? I mean if they're willing to own up to cheating, they'll either never do it again, or they'll continuously do it regardless of if they got a 32 day ban or not.

reduced ban for admitting guilt would be good imo

1. less work for admins
2. encourages honesty
3. faster

Can't you just force auto-SS patch onto everybody? Or does it still only work properly on the download version/do you not have access to patching system?

Could just to look through people's SS on ladder and ban them.

Might hamper activity somewhat though =|

Mikey & Knit

Then would it be possible to give them a gentle nudge as we have now gone on to page two of the cheat reports with PROVEN topics dating back to 11 june 2012.
This would get the bans imposed and also reduce the topics on cheat reports page.
thank you
