i dont want to put this in help section as i dont want to waist admin time as they pointed out but dose any one no(as i dont no much about anything)how to change the reso from the yr non cd download?

Type hires in main menu and go in options
or edit RA2MD (video screenwidth/height) with your resolution

i tried to edit RA2MD but when i try, it opens note pad and doesn't respond..is that because of the yuri's or is it something im doing?sorry to be a nuisance....i just cant play with the big rezo lol

Make sure its RA2MD.INI and not ra2md.mix

ok now when i open ra2 file it doing the same thing....note pad not responding...so i cant even get to the RA2MD.INI file?and i have no disk its the xwis yr download.

Download this program and place in ra2 folder and then change resolution with it:

Its really easy and fast, free and ive used this program on several computers for a few years so im pretty sure its virus-free.

it allows you go as far as 1680x1050 which is more or less the perfect resolution imo. Because if you go to much higher, if its possible. Then you will probobly run into issues on everything looking so small.

Can you check the file you are opening is under 2kb? Right click RA2MD.INI, go to properties and you will see the size listed.

If not install this anyway, thinking about it now I don't think YR has the reso patch included. Install this and run. http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/files/file/5-cc-yuris-revenge-quick-match-resolution-patch/

Open up Yuri's revenge, type in hires when you reach the main menu, and select the resolution in options by clicking on the drop down menu. If you've already typed in hires theres no need to do it again, just select the resolution after running the above file.

thanks for the help...i cant find the RA2MD.INI file and now yr and ra2 is not opening, i have tried everything and things ether dont open and cant find files because they wont open ..i will have to wait for my mate to jump on line and see if he can remote me to see if he might no whats happening as i cant seem to figure it out...thanks again

i done restart and reso still the same..i tried a qm but wasn't connecting...i tried joining 1 guy but wasn't sure if he was just bailing or was connection.

So... you're trying to make your rezo smaller?

yea been trying ,from 640x480 to 1920x1080 ...seems windows 7 is having issues with it..not sure

So you want to make it larger? lol, and Notepad doesn't seem to open ra2md.ini. Ok...

Make sure that you can see the file extensions:
Go to Windows Explorer > Organize (top-left) > Folder and search options > View (tab)
Make sure "Hide extensions for know file types" is NOT selected.

Go to your YR folder:
(To find it's location, right-click your YR icon > Properties > Shortcut (tab) > "Start in:")
Go to that folder using Windows Explorer.

Look for ra2md.ini and try to open it with Notepad.

Did Notepad open it this time?

The folder needed security permissions to write the file.

Right click the RA2 folder > Security > Advanced, and select the system user > giving full control, not just read and execute.

reso working fine...but when i try joining games in lobby and qm it says i need to change reso ?do i need to just play ppl with the same reso?i had one qm and it was fine then like 10 more i couldn't play for the reso?
