FIREWORKS' New-RA2-Maps Tournament!

Hey guys, it's 2012, a fresh new year for a fresh new tournament! This next event, possibly spanning over several days, maybe even weeks, will consist of 16 players from all levels going head to head, exchanging fire with fire, creating explosions left-right-and-center, whilst having fun show-casing the newly added Red Alert 2 maps!

As soon as we have 16 players signed up.

Rules

• XWIS Rules
• Auto SS must be installed and running
• BO3 (last 2 players standing will be BO5)
• Each competitor must find their next opponent as well as an observer and organize their own matches
• Every match MUST be recorded by an observer using a video capture program
• Any faction can be used
• No alting or engi-ing structures (except tech buildings)
• No engi-eat during the first minute
• Each match must be played on one of the following maps...

Map Pool

• Alaskan Outback
• Caverns of Siberia
• Coldest Peak
• Golden State Valley
• Tiger Bay
• Yellowstone
• Jungle of Vietnam

These maps, as well as the Auto SS, are included in the Red Alert 2.0.0.2 Patch (I'm not 100% sure if all of these were the most recently added maps, please correct me if I'm wrong)

Match Settings
Any setting is fine as long as BOTH players agree. If the players cannot come to an agreement, then the usual RA2 QM settings with Superweapons=ON will have to be used.

BO3
Best Of 3 matches, meaning the player who wins the majority of the 3 matches moves on to the next round. The final 2 players will be playing a B05, which means that the first player to win 3 games out of those 5 matches wins the tournament, not to mention the big cash prize!

Recording the Matches
As stated above, every match must be recorded. You can upload the video replays to any website as long as it is available to the public. YouTube would be ideal, but not necessary. This is not only for our Strike Team community, but also for anyone else who happens to stumble upon this site to view and enjoy. In addition, video recordings help dis/prove things such as glitch-abuse, intentional reconnections, things of that nature. Available observers are listed below, but any other observer is fine. If neither you or your next opponent are able to find an observer, as a last resort, you may record and upload your own matches. The replays can be viewed by clicking the game numbers in the brackets below.

NOTE: Just a note to the observers, when uploading your videos, if possible, please upload them with only sound-effects and no music, as certain types of music accompanying videos breach copyright laws in some countries.

Match-ups Taking Too Long to Organize
It is understandable that some match-ups may take longer to organize than others due to our own personal lives' demands. Unfortunately, in order to keep this tournament rolling, if a match-up is taking ridiculously
long to organize, then other arrangements must be made where 1 player goes through uncontested, or neither player goes through.

Prize Money
1st Place = 300 euros!
2nd Place = 200 euros!
3rd Place = 100 euros!

The 2 players in ROUND 3 that do not get through will play each other for 3rd place. The remaining players will be in the draw to win 50 euros (this is basically where I put the remaining players' names in a hat and the player that I randomly choose wins the 50 euros). So if you do not make it to the top 3, you still have a second chance to win!

awesome tourny man- the copy of jungle of vietnam found in my .zip bundle is the current (balanced) copy.

Hopefully the map patch can be updated prior to the tourny date, otherwise I recommend players use this version or do not play the map.


PS: can your friend do any commentary? he's pr0 and hilarious!

I suggest replacing the map ''jungle of vietnam'' with ''Urban Marine Revisted''.
As jungle of vietnam is currently set to non standard, because it is unfinished. Also urban marine is more balanced and more suited for tournament play.

Well you're the map-man. I've removed Jungle of Vietnam, but why Urban Marine? Why not a map we haven't seen a replay of, like North Waves?
