Reason for the tournament: To have fun and get some competitive 1v1s, to boost activity and get a lot of good players on around the same time to play

If this goes well we will do this more often and set up for competitive 1v1 ffg tournaments in the future!

this is just a for fun tournament between friends, bo3... meaning first to 2 wins... double elimination, meaning you must lose 2 series. - Finals will be bo5, first to 3 wins

rules: no alt, no engi, no eat, no cheating

If you suspect someone of mapping and ask for SS the opposing player must post that SS at the end of the game or that game is forfeited for that player.

map pool: any map as long as it can be agreed upon by both players

Settings:
Short game: ON
MCV repacks: ON
Crates: OFF
Superweapons: if both players agree to have it on, then on, if not, then off.
credits: 10k

How do you think I should I advertise it? I advertised it on RA2 lobbies and games for a few days last time.

For the New Maps Tourney I had ppl list their emails, and I prepared the brackets about 6 days ahead of the date. I had challonge mail out links to the matchups as a reminder. Other than that, I updated the sign-up topic frequently in the few days prior, and provided a link to the current GMT time on both msn and ST.

All right.

I feel that if I do the brackets ahead of time then too many people will go ahead in the tournament without having to play their first match. Like last tourny 21 people signed up and like 7 of those people showed up.

I used the challonge emailer because I thought ppl would have more interest in a reminder that included their first match-up, however you could just send one yourself. Its hard to predict how many will show up, but I guess you kinda have to hope for the best. Either way, some re-sorting is pretty much inevitable, so best to try and keep ppl aware.
