I've installed this game dozens of times, and this is a first...
I use a .iso of the original cd mounted to the to a virtual drive and go through the 10min installer.
Then update using the self updater.
Then copy over the .mix files from the CD and run the resolution patch.
Any ideas?
I played one game online and it seemed to work fine...
Missing GUI?

i never had to use a disc to play RA2, never had to mount anything either. Yuri on the other hand requires a cd. but there is a NO cd patch floating around... somewhere..... on the internet........http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BKQKXSTH....
this will allow you to play your ORIGINAL YURI GAME THAT YOU PURCHASED LEGALLY, and without a cd. there is no need to mount files. when i figured this out, i felt like a moron.
or atleast thats how i do it.
does anyone else use a cd when playing ra2? my cd never leaves its case.
