I keep getting " Westwood online support library is missing or invalid " when i try and play online (when I click custom match)

I made sure the components are there, I am running windows 7 and NOT using the first decade version

That's a common problem on Windows Vista and 7, there are no solutions to it unfortunately.

There is a solution - run the game in compatibility mode for windows 98.  This should solve that particular error - along with a couple internal error problems.  Windows 7 handles memory in a different way according to what I've read...

This has solved that exact problem for me.

Thanks for the link to the WOL file.

On a side note, with a fresh install of The first Decade the game starts and stops fine without compatibility mode.  The problem only occurs AFTER this patch is installed.  THEN you must run in compatibility mode to properly shut down.

It is possible to assume that there is a small code issue in this patch... that may be possible to be tweaked and fixed... thats beyond my ability to troubleshoot or solve though.
