install help for (the first decade)[resolved]

ok heres the deal i uninsatlled "the decade" then when i reinstalled it im getting this error message!~


feature: comman& conquer (includes add on packs)
componet:red alert
file:f:/data3.cab
error:data error (cyclie redundancy check)


please help!ive tried several things
system restore,looking for ra2 files etc......
i cant seem to fix the problem ive tried 4 or 5 times
i play ra2......thanks i hope someone can help
when it starts it gets to red alert and then the error message pop's up?????/

have you tried installing tfd under a different directory?

no i havent? i wouldnt know how?

ive located some old files like some old map packs i downloaded!

im hoping thats whats going on......

do you think its some old ra2 files on my computer?

this sucks i have clan tournys going on.......

if someone has any ideas please the help would be much needed!

under a different directory?

Did, you reinstall it to the same directory or a different one?

I'd reinstall it to a different directory and see if that solves it.

lol, ok.

When installing it choose custom install (I think that's how) then you can choose where to install TFD.

The most common time you will see the cyclic redundancy check error message is when trying to read data from a damaged CD or DVD

Disk is faulty, a new one will have to be bought.

Before buying another one try if you only want to play a couple of the games included in the pack try to install them on their own and un check the other ones (which i believe is an option jsut before install if i remember correctly).

Could it just be caused by a dirty or scratched DVD? or maybe even a dirty laser?

What is the general condition of the DVD?

this worked!~ however i dont have the other games and i do play yuris revenge,gen, zero and i like to dabble to old school from time to time so it does suck but this worked i custom installed and then only downloaded ra2 (the main game i play anyway)



so i wanna thank this community for closing another topic and i will be back in the future
