I have the internal error screen during quickmatch.
My XWIS Nickname: zangaros
My ea login name: zangar
C&C First Decade installed (Only ra2 installed)
RED ALERT 2 V1.0.0.6
I'm an experienced RA2 player but i occasionally play online
I have launched the Game Spy Tool to record the game. (Game recorded)
I have started a quickmatch.
I was winning the game.
It tells me that "Red Alert 2 has encountered an internal error and is unable to continue normally."
I'm an expert in PC SUPPORT.
Firewall deactivated (Default XP firewall included)
MSCONFIG checked periodically.
I have been playing RA2 IN LAN Mode for a while and i have'nt seen frequently this error
(It happens occasionnaly in some LAN games)
I have deactivated unused services.
There is No known viruses on the system.
I haven't tried yet keeping exactly only default XP services active before starting the game.
I suspect a cheat or trainer used by the other player.
I have the game record by XCC GAME SPY.
-Can i report that player just for being suspicious ?
-There's a file called "except" in the RA2 folder (25 ko) Shall I post it ?

System:
ADSL 256 Connection speed
Win XP PRO SP3
P4 (3Giga)
766MB RAM (Memory)
Graphic Engine: ATI RADEON 9600 PRO (256DDR)
DX 9, Sound and Graphic Drivers updated
2 Hard Drives (About 300 Giga)

Please help me if you can i'm starting to lose my fun :-(
Thank You Very Much :)

I have disable Sound acceleration, All xp user related services and reduced the Video acceleration.
I have played another 4 players game and it was successful.
know i'm still testing...and will be back here soon for final feedback.
I have a question : Could the internal error in RA2 be caused by the use of a kind of cheat ? Yes or No :)

Not really a cheat, but a serious crash or disconect on either partys side may trigger it

Thank you for your assistance :)
i have some questions which are i think related too this topic :
How a game that ended in an Internal Error will be saved in the server stats ?
Will it affect the ladder position or point of either players?
Will one of the players wins and the other loses?
When the internal error happens on one side of the connection did the error message appears also on the other side simultaneously?
I'm new here sorry ;)

It depends, sometimes only one of the player get's the internal error, sometimes both. If only one gets it, the opposite player will get a win for the game, if both player recive an internal error, the game won't be recorded.

Please can you tell me what kind of crash ? And in case of Internet disconnection i think there is the disconnected screen that displays not the Internal Error. Also in case of Internet disconnection it tries to reconnect and do not display Internal Error.
Do i have to Reinstall my windows XP just to make sure it's not the system?
Can i get banned because my system is generating this error message "Internal Error" ?
Please is can you tell me is there a tool or website to test if my internet connection is able to handle this game (I have 256 dsl) ?
Ok : we suppose i disabled acceleration (in Sound and Graphic), I deactivated all non windows services (msconfig) ,I have opened appropriate ports in router (Using NAT settings), I have set compatibility mode of the three main executable of the game to Win98 and disabled "Advanced Text Function" there, I have Uninstalled my firewall and deactivated the Windows XP default firewall,I have updated the sound and graphic drivers,I have installed the last directx,I have disabled the power saving function in the Network Interface,I have reinstalled Red alert 2 (First Decade) after those steps and after un-installing it,---->And unfortunately I still have the Internal Error in LAN or Online IN SOME GAMES = Is there something else i can do or i have forgotten to do ?

Please if you can answer even some of my enquiries, your help would be very appreciated ;)
Thank you very much
